The Fifth Annual Long Island School Library Systems (SLS) Regional Institute was held on November 6, 2018 at the Radisson Hotel in Hauppauge. This event is a cooperative effort of the three regional SLS’s (Eastern Suffolk, Western Suffolk and Nassau) to provide professional development in lieu of a districts conference day.
There were twenty presentations offered to over 200 regional school librarians along with a keynote speaker Tanya Lee Stone, author of “Girl Rising”. The emphasis of these sessions was to provide school librarians with a wealth of student centered offerings and informational resources to bring back to their respective districts.
